• Day 1: Arrive Auckland

On arrival in Auckland, ‘The City of Sails’, seat in coach passengers will be met by our local representative and privately transferred to your hotel. Self- drive passengers will pick-up your rental car at the airport and drive to your hotel.

  • Day 2: Auckland

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Auckland city including a visit to Kelly Tarlton’s Sealife Aquarium and Antarctic Encounter. The remainder of the day is free.


SkyWalk: Walk the 1.2 metre-wide walkway around Auckland’s famous Sky Tower – 192 metres above the ground, no handrails and nothing but air on either side of you! It's the perfect Auckland experience! SkyWalk is one of the most exhilarating and unique New Zealand tourist attractions, and the most thrilling tourist adventure activity in Auckland City. SkyWalk is open 10.00am to 4.30pm daily, except Christmas Day.

  • Day 3: Auckland - Waitomo – Rotorua

Travel south through the fertile Waikato region to arrive at Waitomo. Enjoy a guided tour of the world-famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. On completion continue over the forested Mamaku Ranges to reach the ‘Thermal City’ of Rotorua.



Black Labyrinth, Waitomo: This is the original Waitomo subterranean adventure that will have you climbing, black water tubing, leaping and floating through Ruakuri Cave. Over three hours you'll take leaps of faith over cascading waterfalls and float serenely down an underground river as you enjoy the glow worm show on the vaulted limestone galleries up above.


Black Abyss, Waitomo: Black Abyss is the ultimate Waitomo adventure and is the caving tour of choice for natural born adrenaline junkies everywhere. Descend into the seemingly bottomless black depths of the glow worm studded Ruakuri Cave. This five hour expedition combines abseiling the 35 metre tomo, climbing, whizzing down a flying fox and cave tubing underneath glow worms into one unforgettable journey. At every stage you're accompanied and supported by experienced caving guides from The Legendary Black Water Rafting Co. who know and love this totally unique and mind-blowing environment.


OGO: Superman dive into the OGO on your own or have one, two or three friends in there together as you slip, slide and laugh your way down the 250m long slope. This is a wet ride. OGO is located just along Ngongotaha Road from Skyline Gondola and Rainbow Springs and is an easy addition to any itinerary. Daily from 9.00am to 6.00pm (summer hours), except Christmas Day

  • Day 4: Rotorua

This morning visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve to see boiling mudpools and roaring geysers. Following this, visit Rainbow Springs to see New Zealand’s trout, birds and wildlife before continuing to the Agrodome for a New Zealand farm show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of our sheep industry. This evening enjoy an authentic Maori Hangi (feast) and Concert.



Swoop: Have you ever heard the expression just ‘let yourself go’? Well the swoop is the perfect example of how to do just that. Feel your heart beat as the anticipation increases as your raised 40 metres into the air high above the Ngongotaha stream, and then pulling a ripcord that that plunges you into an exhilarating swoop towards the ground at 130kmph. Take the plunge on your own or get others to join you to make for a more intense experience.


Shweeb: The Shweeb will get your pulse racing as you push through THE EDGE to compete against friends or family or clock to race for to challenge the world record. This thrilling and innovative riding experience takes you around a 200m track with scenic farmlands whizzing by as you power around three laps of the course with the potential to reach up to 45kmph and 60 degree swings on the bends. The Shweeb is a world first innovation and is totally human powered (yes, by you), pedaled just like a bicycle within your Shweeb pod, hanging from a monorail above you have 7 gears to work through over the 600m race. Team races are also available and every Shweeber receives a certificate showing how well you did for your country and class.

We provide you with a flight suit, training, tips and tricks for you to achieve the ultimate flight sensation. Be suspended on a giant column of air as the flight masters guide you as your reach heights of up to 4metres. This will leave you feeling blown away and we even let you keep your free hair style!!   • Day 5: Rotorua - Wellington

Travel south to reach the popular lake resort of Taupo before continuing on the Desert Road, dominated in the background by the three peaks of Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. Continue south through farmland before arriving in the ‘Capital City’ of Wellington.

  • Day 6: Wellington

Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of Wellington and a short guided tour of Te Papa (the ‘Museum of New Zealand’) before enjoying a free afternoon to explore New Zealand’s capital city.



Weta Cave Workshop Tour: You will be picked up from one of two locations around Wellington city centre and join us on a journey to the heart of Miramar to enjoy the Weta Cave Workshop Tour and spend some time exploring the world famous Weta Cave. The story of the creative process is told by members of the talented crew from the workshop floor using the props, models and weapons they helped make for the movies. They may even reveal some of the secrets behind the movie magic...

  • Day 7: Wellington - Picton - Kaikoura

Journey across Cook Strait and into the Marlborough Sounds before arriving in Picton. Travel south through the town of Blenheim, before reaching Kaikoura – here you might like to take an optional whale watch cruise or scenic flight (optional activities not included in the tour price).

  • Day 8: Kaikoura - Christchurch

Leave Kaikoura behind as you turn inland and travel through North Canterbury to reach the ‘Garden City’ of Christchurch



Christchurch Tramway Restaurant: Experience the luxury of our 36 seater air-conditioned, colonial style dining tram and be treated to the finest service, cuisine and beverages New Zealand has to offer.


Punting on the Avon: Punting on the Avon is one of the iconic tourist attractions in Christchurch. Like punting at Oxford and Cambridge in England, our punting experience uses flat-bottomed boats with no keel, pushed by a pole.

  • Day 9: Christchurch – Mt. Cook - Queenstown

Travel across the fertile Canterbury Plains to Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd before continuing on to New Zealand’s highest mountain - Mt Cook. Depart Mt. Cook and follow the shores of Lake Pukaki south through the historic Central Otago region to the ‘Alpine Resort’ of Queenstown.

  • Day 10: Milford Sound

Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakatipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. Enter the Eglinton Valley and travel through the Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fiord. Return to Queenstown.

  • Day 11: Queenstown

A free day to explore the endless optional attractions available in Queenstown - bungy jumping, jetboating, gondola rides, NZONE Skydive and much more. Optional activities not included in the tour price.

  • Day 12: Queenstown - Glacier Region

Depart Queenstown and travel via Lake Wanaka and through the historic Haast Pass, gateway to the World Heritage Westland National Park. Continue up the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the glacier region of Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers.

  • Day 13: Glacier Region

A full day at leisure to explore this magnificent glacier region. Optional activities include a scenic flight or guided walk on one of the glaciers. Optional activities not included in the tour price. For Self Drive clients, entry to the Glacier Hot Pools is included.

Travel north to Greymouth and board the world famous Tranz Alpine train (seat in coach passengers only). Ascend through lush beech forests past the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass before crossing the spectacular Southern Alps. Travel over Canterbury Plains to Christchurch. (Breakfast)


  • Day 15: Fly back

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for seat in coach passengers or self-drive passengers drive to the airport and return your rental car. Return home with wonderful memories of your holiday with Vacations Exotica.
